The THERMSHIELD FD series of 'EIS' classified singleblade
mechanical or automatic fire dampers, marked
with a CE, are designed to prevent the spread of fire
and smoke while maintaining compartmentation
in internal normal dry filtered air systems. The
THERMSHIELD FD fire damper is constructed with a
steel sheet case and a calcium silicate damper blade,
operated by a mechanism located outside of the
airflow. It can be activated manually or through an
electric actuator.
The damper comes in various sizes to accommodate
different circular ductwork and can be installed
using different methods to suit various supporting
constructions. The case is made of galvanized steel
sheet, and the calcium silicate blade is equipped with
brass bearings and seals made of polyurethane and
elastomer rubber.
THERMSHIELD FD has been classified as meeting the
EIS standards for integrity, low smoke leakage, and
insulation, making it suitable for demanding projects.
It also fulfills the requirements of EN 15650, has been
fire tested to EN 1366-2, and classified to EN 13501-3.
The THERMSHIELD FD damper blade is designed to
remain normally open and has a fail-safe feature that
automatically closes at 72 degrees Celsius to maintain
compartmentation.
