WISE Water

WISE Water optimizes heating and cooling across multiple zones by adjusting water temperature based on room needs, saving energy and enhancing comfort.

Main functionality

The WISE Water function connects a group of waterborne products (such as Parasol, Paragon, and Adriatic) to monitor and manage their cooling and heating demands. It calculates an average temperature setpoint based on all connected rooms and adapts to different building sections with varying cooling/heating needs. This ensures valves remain open as much as possible, optimizing water temperature to reduce energy consumption and increase comfort. The system supports flexible configurations and integrates seamlessly with SMART Link+ for advanced control.

How it works

The flow chart above shows the schematics of the WISE Water function. A couple of things to consider:

  • Each chilled beam (CB) calculates it´s needed water temperature based on the cooling/heating demand
  • In SuWi several groups with selected CB (north/south facade f.i.) can be created
  • SuWi calculates an average water temperature for each group based on its settings (highest, lowest, average etc.) and sends to each shunt group control their calculated temperature setpoint
  • SuWi compares the values in-between the groups and sends the value with the highest need to the CH/HP/MF

Technical details

  • SuWi collects demand temperature from all CB in a group (multiple groups for both heating and cooling can be created in SuWi) and calculates an average need for each group
(28, 30 and 32°C for heating in this example)
  • SuWi sends the temperature from the group that has the highest need (32°C) to the producer (heating and/or cooling) with possible offset (security)
  • The chiller/heat pump produces the water temperature that is given until new value is sent from SuWi.
  • Each shunt group/controls the set temperature given by SuWi for its respective group
